The system administered by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) utilizes an ORI code. This number is provided by FDLE and identifies the agency requesting the criminal history check and for what purpose. The OCA (Controlling Agency Identifier). This number is provided by DCF and identifies the provider requesting the background check. This list does not include many of the codes for VECHS (Volunteer & Employee Criminal History System) background checks which we also perform.
Both or these numbers are used to route your background check to the appropriate agency for evaluation. Your fingerprints are added to the National Fingerprint Archive as well as a background check is performed. Here are some of the agencies and codes that we see regularly as well as other ones.
